The client wanted their pool area to feel like a retreat rather than a slab with water in the middle of it. The answer was a custom deck in sleek, durable stone pavers, with a run of grass-lined stepping pavers on the opposite side to soften the whole thing.
What the site asked for
A pool on its own is a feature nobody lingers at. Without a deck wide enough to hold furniture, and without a visual edge, the pool reads as an object dropped into a lawn. The brief was to make the whole area feel like one designed space.
What we built
Large-format stone pavers in a pale, cool-toned finish give a modern and inviting lounging space with room for loungers along the full length of the pool. On the opposite side, stepping pavers set into the grass carry you around the water without another expanse of hard surface, blending natural elements with clean, contemporary design.
How it turned out
Together the two treatments create the setting the client was after: somewhere to relax and entertain by the water, with the planting still doing half the work.
