Not every project needs to fill the yard. This one is a quaint custom gas firepit and stone seating bench wall, built so the client could unwind and enjoy a conversation around the fire.
Reading the setting
The space is surrounded by mature woodland, which set the palette before anything else did. Anything cool or grey would have fought the trees.
What we built
Earth-coloured pavers and stone veneer pair with the wooded space all around, so the hardscape settles into the site rather than announcing itself. The bench wall wraps far enough round the pit to seat a group facing each other, which is the whole point of a firepit.
The detail that makes it
Blue fire glass in the burner shows off against the warm stone and the flames, and it is the one cool note in an otherwise entirely earth-toned build.
